Shanghai Institute of International Finance is a Sino-America cooperative high education institution for adults authorized by Shanghai Education Commission. Mr. Wang Dao-han and Mr. Jing Shu-ping are the honorary Chairmen of the Board of SIIF. The purpose of the institute is to train senior talents in business administration and finance.

Located in Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone in Pudong New Area, the institute was established for cross-century human resource development in 1990. The board trustees include International Study Association for Cross- Cultural Human Resource Development, Reann International Group (USA), Bank of China Shanghai Branch, Bank of Communications, China Min Sheng Banking Corporation Ltd., Shanghai Jiaotong University etc. The Honorary Directors include senior officials or specialists from World Bank, IMF and Asian Development Bank.

Taking the advantages of external educational resources, the institute has provided local managers and senior executives with professional knowledge and latest information by well-designed courses and famous economists, management and finance authorities from United Nation organizations, the World Bank etc. Courses of the institute include Commercial Bank Reform and Policy, Transnational Management, Property and Finance, Structure and Policy Orientation of Chinese Assets Market, Modern Investment Banking, Strategies and Tactical of Corporate Financing, Corporate Restructuring and Listing, Merger and Acquisitions, Countermeasures for Asian Financial Crises, Knowledge Economy etc. The Institute has also provided training for the senior employees of governmental agencies and foreign banks in Shanghai, who finally came out to be quite capable. The amount of high-level personnel trained in the Institute reached 6000.The fruitful results of education and research of the Institute were confirmed and appreciated by Chinese government, UNDP, the World Bank and worldwide financial organizations.
